Congratulations to US Army Engineer Research and Development Center and Mississippi licensed Professional Engineer, Dr. Edith Martínez-Guerra for being selected as the American Society of Civil Engineers 2020 Young Government Civil Engineer of the Year!
Edith earned her bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Arkansas State University in 2012 and her Masters (2013) and Ph.D. (2016) from the bagle College of Engineering at Mississippi State University, Civil and Environmental Engineering Department.
She supports numerous U.S. Army and NAVFAC projects. Edith has been an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) since she was an undergraduate student. She is also an active member of the Society of Hispanic Professiona Engineers (SHPE) and the Society of Women Engineers (SWE). Next year, Edith will serve as the President of the Mississippi Section of ASCE.
