President's Message

It is a privilege to be a member of the Mississippi Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Surveyors, and an honor to serve as President for the 2024 – 2025 fiscal year.  The Board has a legacy of very capable leadership in the president position, most recently held by Mr. Patrick Martino, PS.  Mr. Martino provided exceptional leadership through a year of significant transition in personnel, registration protocol and physical re-location of the Board office.

For the first time in the history of the Board we have an Executive Director who has a degree in engineering.  Ms. Monica Gilmore holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Mississippi State University.  Under her capable leadership the staff is working diligently to review and upgrade procedures and protocols to improve efficiency in all aspects of Board operations.

A team of Board members led by Mr. Steve Twedt, PE, has done an excellent job of re-writing and re-organizing the Rules and Regulations to more concisely reflect the NCEES Model Law and Mississippi Statute.  Be on the lookout for the release of the updated rules and regulations in early 2025.

Thank you for your continued commitment to the engineering and surveying professions in the State of Mississippi.  We are grateful for your service.  Please do not hesitate to call on us as needed.
